Visiting Downtown Fairfield Police Station

It was a cool Friday evening that brought us to downtown Fairfield, not exactly where we'd planned to start our weekend. Rumors about shootings, road rages, and brawls had made us slightly fearful about visiting the area, but we knew our friends in blue, our protectors, would be working even harder there to keep everyone safe. They really deserve a shoutout! Thank you, Heroes in Fairfield from all of us at S.H.I.N.E. (Super Heroes in Need of Encouragement)

And what a surprise! The police greeted us and they were the nicest people. They showed us their patrol motorcycles and my kids went bonkers! They were beyond thrilled!

The kids shared their art work, cookies and goodies with the officers thanking them for their service and for all the hard work they do.

"Wow! You guys, we really needed this especially before our crazy Friday night shift begins." The police officers were really grateful.

"Bless your hearts for protecting Fairfield and everyone here! We really do appreciate you." I was overwhelmed!

In most cases these heroes toil away expecting no recognition; I've found that they are often genuinely surprised when the public they serve expresses sincere appreciation.

"Mom, this is our favorite police station ever!" The kids told me. So far they've visited several police stations in Solano County the last couple of months, but Downtown Fairfield stood out. We should have known there was nothing to fear with these guys on duty!

Not only was it a treat for the kids to get to sit on the motorcycles, but a surprise for me because so did I!
